What a weekend!!

Home Nations Cup hosted by New Century Bowmen in Macclesfield. As usual I went into the competition determined to do my best only to underperform in the qualifying round then let the pressure get to me in the Team round on day one. Disappointed ☹️

However day two was a new day and with the support of my Teammates Kayleigh and Gillian, Captain Robyn and Erik and Joshua for spotting we turned things around and took Bronze for Scotland in ladies recurve 😊🏹

🏹 Home Nations Cup 2025 🏹

This weekend I had the honour of representing Scotland in the Men’s Compound Division alongside James Ross, Ru Barlow and Kyle Scott. This event was a real test! The field layout was quite different from what I’m used to and required me to torque the bow to one side quite aggressively, which threw me off and meant I qualified well below my average.

After a struggling morning, I managed to regroup and put down some strong shots in the head-to-heads. Unfortunately, the other nations were just in sharper form this time around, and we came away with 4th place in compound men and bronze for Scotland overall.

Not the result I was aiming for, but still proud to have worn the Scottish shirt and brought a medal home. Plenty learned and plenty to build on for the season ahead. 💪🏴

Thank you to all my team members and Scottish Archery who make this a very memorable weekend and hopefully be back in 2026 to prove myself once again!

It was a weekend of tears and frustration on my part, but I was grateful to spend this afternoon in the company of the wonderful team and have some fun in the sun. Really enjoyed being captain of the team, and it gave me some focus throughout the weekend.
