Only two Lethen Archers the Lochside Bowmen's XLIII Glamis Castle Open Tournament with Carin shooting a Western round with her barebow and Hamish shooting a New Western with his compound.

Carin...

"Lovely, warm day with a breeze that felt good on the line and gave some leeway excusewise. :) We had scads of tiny spiders making good use of the wind to travel places. Wasn't too keen one the one that decided my pressure button was the perfect place to bungie up and down while I was aiming, and I think the one that hitched with my outgoing arrow might need therapy, both physical and mental. :)

60y didn't go particularly well - no good place to aim for the gap, but at 50y I could aim at the top of the flag which gave me some nice groupings and good points. Silver in the adult female barebow category, which feels like good value for a bowman 3rd class score.

Thank you to Lochside Bowmen who ran a good 43rd Glamis tournament."

Hamish...

"Not many positive things to say about today's shoot except the company.

I felt ready to do this shoot... The body and mentality was good, the weather was great. Unfortunately I just couldn't get into a good flow and no matter how many times I reset it just didn't help.

The weather was a lot better than I expected and I think the heat and shots not landing where I expected just caused frustration and I unravelled. Luckily I had some great target mates - @jamesr_archer & @chaffe85 to try to keep me going. Great to have @hfg.jpg and my parents tag along to keep me positive between ends.

Notable shout-out to @toppingsam953 who has been trying compound for the past few weeks and managed to complete his first compound competition and walk away with a 1st in his distance and a Scottish record.

We move on and onto stage 1 in 2 weeks. Hopefully that's a different story..."

Think it's fair to say Carin enjoyed herself more than Hamish.
