It was a good turnout for Lethen Field Archers at Palacerigg Field Archers Hunter classification shoot on Sunday 29th June, with Edwin, Debbie, Robyn, Michal and Rebecca making the long journey down to Cumbernauld. We all had our wellies/waterproof boots packed due to the amount of warnings we'd had about Palacerigg never drying out, however it wasn't too bad with most of the boggy/muddy sections on the paths rather than at the shooting pegs. Good weather all day with blue skies and lots of sunshine. No midges which was good but there was one or two wasps buzzing around, especially near the base camp which made trying to eat lunch fun.

At the end of the day it was gold medals all round with all our archers winning their respective categories and new club records for Debbie, Robyn, Rebecca and Michal.

Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to Palacerigg Field Archers for hosting.

Debbie...

"Enjoyable 🤔 day at the Palacerigg Hunter round today. Still find field shoots stressful, so much to think about. Managed slightly fewer stupid mistakes but struggled with sight marks so score wasn’t great. Still all good practice 🤣🏹

Robyn...

"Back on a field course after swearing I never would again. Didn’t have a miserable time but they’ve still not convinced me it was great fun 😂

Managed a gold by 1 point, but the real victory was not sinking in the mud 😂

Edwin...

"A great day today at the Palacerigg Field Archers Hunter classification shoot. Was quite boggy underfoot in places despite the good weather but then I don't think palacerigg is ever not muddy. Score of 435 was good enough for gold in the AMFS-R category. Was slightly distracted in the afternoon due to a slight wardrobe malfunction after kneeling down to pull arrows from a low target face. Don't think anyone noticed and the extra ventilation was quite welcome 🤣. Congratulations to fellow Lethen Field Archers who all also took gold in their respective categories. Big thank you to everyone involved in organising and running the shoot."
