It was a busy weekend of archery championships for the last weekend of August with both SFAA and SAA holding their championships at the same time. While some of our archers went to the SAA Championships, Edwin and Carin elected to travel down to Forest Spirit Archers in Fyfe for the Scottish Field Archery Championship.
Saturday was the Hunter round, and while the weather started off pretty good it did start to rain in the afternoon. Sunday was the Field round and this time it was the wind that played a part. Over all though, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves despite the weather and there were a number of Scottish records broken. As always, Forest Spirit were fantastic hosts (especially as they were providing bacon rolls, burgers, hot & cold drinks and snacks) and put on a great shoot.

🎯🏹 A successful weekend at the SFAA Ltd. Championships hosted by Forest Spirit Archers.
Saturday was the Hunter round and despite the rain in the afternoon, achieved a new Personal Best of 462/560.
Sunday was the Field round and VERY windy, especially towards the end on the lower part of the course. End result was a lower score of 431/560 and a lost arrow on the 80 yard shot.
Overall score of 893/1120 was enough to take the gold medal and trophy in the AMFS-R category 🏆🥇
Also managed to claim a couple of 20 pins 😁
Overall a great weekend with great target companions.

Good weekend at the Forest Spirit site for the SFAA championship. 484 for the combined Hunter and Field, no gripes from the shoulder tendons, and mostly no rain. Counting this as a complete success as I've only been shooting my barebow for the last two weeks. :) Started remembering how to towards the end. ^_^ Good company, good fun, good starting targets. FSA run a smooth competition once the archers have meandered their way to the base camp, and the targets are varied and well thought-out.
