Debbie and Robyn ventured over to Largs for the West of Scotland Indoor Weekend on 1st & 2nd February. The weekend consisted of a Portsmouth round followed by the Nerves of Steel on Saturday and Vegas & WA18m Rounds on Sunday.

Debbie managed to come first in the Portsmouth & Vegas rounds and second in the WA18m in the Recurve Womens 50+ category but only made it through the first round of the Nerves of Steel.

"Day one of the West of Scotland Archery Association weekend in Largs.

So glad I decided to go with a slightly lighter poundage. Actually enjoyed the shoot as wasn’t fighting to get through my shots like I have been for the past few months. Scored 565 on the Portsmouth to take first in the 50+ Ladies Recurve Visitors.

Nerves of steel in the evening but only made it through the first round.

Day 2 at the West of Scotland weekend and unfortunately no matter how hard I tried the shots just weren’t happening today. Tired and somewhat disheartened so time to rest and regroup then work on setting up the new bow.

Great to catch up with Nathan and get to see that fabulous Paris Paralympic Gold Medal"

Despite suffering due to illness, Robyn came second in the Portsmouth and WA18m rounds in the Compound Womens category and made it all the way to the final in the Nerves of Steel.

"Absolutely battered by the flu (again) and things did not look good going in to this weekend. I shot a decent Portsmouth on Saturday, which got me silver in the Ladies. Nerves of steel was a blast as usual, and I found myself in the final again. Shot the steel with a skinny carbon arrow AND IT SURVIVED?!?!?

Sunday I woke up feeling even worse than before, so I withdrew from the morning to allow me to focus on the afternoon. This was a solid decision as I put in a tidy WA18m score despite running on paracetamol, caffeine and tissues."
