Carin is really getting into these competitions, travelling down to Kilmarnock Barebow Archers to take part in the West of Scotland Outdoor Championships.

"First go at WA900 in fairly rambunctious wind. I'm rubbish at 60m, including one end with four arrows in the wooden frame and the other two missing completely. Fortunately, arrows that are 50% blaze orange are relatively easy to find in short grass, and 27# otf makes for a possible lossless retrieval from wood, especially with the borrowed arrow-jack. :) I'm glad the distances decrease, because ending on 60m would have been a downer. 40m much more comfortable finish, and a decent score. First place, but no-one else in 50+ BB.
Kilmarnock Archers set up and executed a well-run, decently catered, and fun competition. They even manged to keep us dry until the last arrow, then cue down-pour.
I bailed on the Sunday, my aching knees made it difficult to stand and walk, and I needed them to work for the long drive home."
