The 11th and 12th of October saw a large contingent of Scottish archers head South of the border to Whitburn Archers for the 2.4K challenge. Amongst them were Lethen Archers Hamish and Debbie and associate members Robyn, Rebecca and Sam. The weekend consisted of four WA18m rounds which sounds like a really gruelling start to the indoor season to me. Our archers, however, did us proud with some fantastic results.

Whitburn 2.4k wrapped up with a 3rd place overall finish. I had one good round that matched my PB of 572, but overall my performance wasn’t quite where I wanted it to be... I definitely underestimated how much effort the 4x WA18 would take!
That said, I’m really glad I went. It was great to catch up with everyone and spend the day shooting with so many familiar faces.
Now it’s time to lock in the form changes and get ready for the National Indoors in December.

Delighted to have completed the Whitburn Archers 24K Challenge this weekend and win the coveted glass archer for the Ladies 50+ Recurve. Four WA18 rounds, 240 scoring arrows. A fab shoot, very well run and great fun.
Robyn...
Really happy with the start to the season, a new competition PB and 1st place at the Whitburn Archers 2.4k. Very pleased to have survived the 250+ arrows (with very little practice) and come away with the Glass Archer.
Many many thanks for Whitburn Archers for hosting, it was such a wonderfully run event and I will definitely be back next time!
